Post doc position in Plant ecology and carbon cycle (Cod. 011_CEA_PEC)

Research activities

The research activity of the Forest Ecology Group of FEM is focus on vegetation-atmosphere interactions and on soil structure and functionality. Energy and gas exchange (C, N and water) between terrestrial ecosystems and atmosphere are analysed and spatial (remote sensing and GIS), radiative and biogeochemical models are developed. Upscaling of carbon budget, using forest inventory data and remote sensing images is made at different scales. The group in involved in the UE projects CARBOEUROPE-IP and NITROEUROPE-IP and in the international SPECNET network. Moreover the institute is partner in the national project for carbon balance (CARBOITALY). The FEM is equipped by state of the art instruments to measure the radiative field of intercepted and incident radiation (global and net radiometers, quantum sensors of direct/diffuse radiation). Portable spectroradiometer are available for retrieving optical properties at high spectral resolution while for gas exchanges and fluorescence two portable LiCOR 6400 are available.
